I started my new position at People’s Church in OKC last week. This is an atmosphere rich in leadership! In one of my conversations with a leader on our team I asked a question about something I noticed him doing in a meeting. Making a statement, pausing, listening & repeating back what he heard. I commented on his patience. He said, “its not patience, I am trying to see how they think.” What? “Yeah…if I can understand how they are thinking, I can help them to see what I need them to see.” Simple but a great REVELATION! Lights came on everywhere!
Leaders….make your point…pause….listen….repeat what you hear…learn HOW your people think…THEN you can show them the journey they are going to take with you.
